Who we are

The New York State Quitline is a service of the New York State Department of Health Tobacco Control Program and based at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, N.Y. It is a free and confidential program providing evidence-based services to New York State residents who want to stop vaping, smoking, or using other forms of tobacco. A program with experience, care, and expertise.

The NYS Quitline seeks to create an environment where all individuals regardless of their backgrounds, identities, lived experiences, or abilities feel respected, valued, and empowered to quit tobacco products.

What we offer

Our history

The NYS Quitline is one of the first and busiest state quitlines in the nation, and has responded to more than 2.5 million calls since its inception in 1999.

According to an August 2017 report published in the American Journal of Health Promotion, the New York State Quitline is among the most efficient cessation resources in the country, reaching nearly three times the average number of people as other state quitlines.

Mon-Thurs 9AM-9PM, Fri-Sun 9AM-5PM. Chat and text support may vary from the hours above based on request volume and coach availability. For immediate support, please call during operational hours.
People who identify as Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Speech Impaired
